Mubarakpur, Dera Bassi | Dussehra was celebrated at Silver City Themes Derabassi with great devotion, enthusiasm and community participation. The celebrations began with a Ramleela performance at the Club House, followed by a vibrant Shobha Yatra from the Silver City Themes Mandir. Residents, along with children dressed as Ram, Sita and Lakshman, took out a round of the society while reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and raising slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.
The tradition of celebrating Dussehra in the society began years ago, when children collected contributions from flats and prepared a small but meaningful effigy of Ravana. Since 2013, the children were supported by Lucy Burgess and Mr. Arora of B-1. After the formation of the RWA, the effigy has been arranged by the Association, continuing this cherished tradition. The effigy of Ravana was lit by RWA General Secretary Mr. Nitin Gavri, symbolising the victory of good over evil. The event was attended by RWA President Ms. Lucy Burgess, along with Gagan Taneja, Aruna Malhotra, Veena Bhargava, Manas and several residents. Special appreciation is due to Ajay Kumar, Sanjeev Aggarwal, Sunny Bhatnagar and Mr. Garg for their support, and to Manas for his sincere efforts in arranging the fireworks and other arrangements. The celebration reflected the unity, faith and cultural spirit of Silver City Themes residents. Silver City Themes RWA thanks all residents for making the occasion memorable.
